Picture of the surfer boys waiting for a good wave
This weekend I went to the West side of the island to Rincon. Rincon is a surfing town with lots of Americans. It feels like a totally different place than Guayama. Many more people speaking English. I went to Rincon with the Mudd's and Mandi. We left Friday evening after school and came home Saturday night. On Friday we stayed at The Rincon Inn. It was like a small apartment, not too bad. Only paid 20 bucks each! Friday night we went out to some local bars on the beach. There were tons of people out. People came from around the United States to compete in the surfing competition. I was hoping to meet a hot surfer boy, but that did not happen. Most of them were actually pretty grungy and dirty looking. Anyways we had a great time Friday night. We hung out at the Tamboo Tavern. Fun place on the beach, which had live reggae music.
We woke up early Saturday to get to the beach for the competition. It was pretty awesome watching the surfers. There were boys and girls. The girl who was actually in the lead for the day was only 13! I think that would be so awesome to grow up on the beach and surf all the time. I think I am going to make my kids do that. Rough life some of these people have! We ended up leaving around 4 in the evening to get back to Guayama. We were all pretty tired. The finals were not until Sunday, but we did not want to stay another night. I am glad we did not stay because I was super tired.

Me with this great Pina Coloda! It was sooo good. They even gave you the pineapple from the inside of the drink.

Me and Mandi

Me on Alyssa's Birthday at our favorite restaurant in the mountains. This place is so beautiful and so fun. They had live music the whole time and the band sang many songs to Alyssa.
