Caja De Muertos trip

We got a group of 18 together to go to one of my favorite places in PR. It is a small island off of Ponce that you take a ferry boat to. I love this place. It is so beautiful! The water is amazingly blue and clear. We went on Sunday and the weather was perfect. I took a hike with Barb and we tried to go up to the lighthouse, but we were attacked by mosquitos and had to turn around. I did hike back up there with Kim and found a beach to snorkel at. We saw some cool fish. I think I stepped on some coral or something because my foot was stinging for hours. It was such an awesome, relaxing day. Makes me remember how thankful and grateful I am to live here!

Pics of the house

Mandi and I finished painting in the house today. I thought I would put some pictures up for everyone to see. I really like how the colors turned out. I never thought I would have a fuschia wall in my house. I guess if you live in Puerto Rico you can paint your house any color you want.
This is taken from the kitchen
Kitchen & the wall we painted yellow.

Our pink chalkboard wall. Got a recipe to make chalkboard paint from Martha Stewart. Wish I would have had that when I was a kid. It really cool. We mixed grout into the paint, and then sanded it. Now you can write on it with chalk!

Labor Day Weekend to Cabo Rojo

Me jumping into the water!!!!
This long weekend I took a trip to the West, Cabo Rojo. I have never been here before and I have heard that the beaches are really nice here. It was so pretty. I loved all of the beaches and the scenery. We stayed at a house of a friend who rents it out. It was really close to the beach and a lot of fun bars and restaurants. I stayed with Mandi, Manny (P.E. teacher), and his friend Peter. They both play baseball in Guayama. We got to Cabo Rojo on Friday and came home Monday.
Friday we made dinner and laid in our hammocks. It was so relaxing! Then Saturday it was really rainy so we went to Boqueron and ate and then we actually went swimming for a while. That night we went out to a club that had a band playing. Sunday we went to Buye Beach. It was really nice and the water was clear and blue. Sunday night we had a really good Puerto Rican dinner and went out for a bit. Monday we went to Combate Beach, which was right were we stayed. Again it was an amazing beach. I had a great weekend.

Combate Beach Cabo Rojo
The water was so clear and blue. You could walk so far out and it was so shallow.

Iguana outside of the house in Cabo Rojo
I really liked the color of it.

These guys were so crazy! They kept staring so finally I said something to them. They were drinking whiskey out of a tin can. I swear they told us the same stories 50 times. It was amusing though and they bought us some drinks.
I thought this church was so beautiful. I love the colors.

I wish I lived in one of the places behind us.

Self timer always comes in handy! We were just getting ready to go out for the night/
Boqueron Beach
It was a really rainy day, but we still went down to the beach. We ate lunch at a restaurant on the beach and after that we decided to jump into the water. There was a dock that went out into the water that we jumped off of. It was a lot of fun. There were a bunch of teenagers there too. i think they were showing off and one got naked and jumped in! Ahhhh.

This was a house right outside of a restuarant we went to. There was a lady sitting outside and she dropped a chair in the water on accident. She was about to jump in to the water, but luckily a boat came and saved it for her.
In Boqueron eating clams. I did not try them though. I think I would throw up. They have these little stands set up all over this one road in Boqueron right on the beach.

Love it when I can go outside and pick a flower to put in my hair.

Mandi and I sitting around the house in Cabo Rojo. We all had our own hammocks to lay in. It was so relaxing!
I loved all of the colors of the houses in this picture. It looks way cooler in real life.
