Okay so I have finally gotten to the Internet! It seems like that is difficult here. I had to go to Burger King, but I am getting Internet and cable tomorrow. Let me just say that I absolutely love it in Puerto Rico! It is so beautiful. The picture is of Saint Thomas Virgin Islands, which is very close to me...maybe I will visit. I took that picture from the plane.
I got here on Saturday (July 26th). When I got off the plane and stepped outside it was so hot and it has remained that way ever since. Fine with me! I was brought to my house by Mr. Delgado (school director) and I got my car the next day. I bought my car from a couple who taught down here last year. It is a nice car and I like it better than my Thunderbird. My house is also very cute. It has three rooms and I will be living with another girl, Mandi. She has not arrived yet. I live a few houses down from another couple from Montana, the Mudds. They are very nice and I am glad they are right down the street. The neighborhood is nice and so are the people. I have four palm trees in my yard, which makes me happy. We also have those little lizard things all over outside.
I went to my school on Tuesday and met some other teachers as well as my principal. Everyone is so nice. The school is so different from the ones I am used to. They are all open and not as nice as ours. I will take some pictures of the school soon.
Today I went to a beach in Salinas not to far from where I live. The beach was beautiful! Mr. Mendez, a teacher from PR, picked some of the teachers up and brought us there. We went kayaking and snorkeling. It was a blast. I found a big conch shell while snorkeling and it had a big hermit crab inside of it. We had a lot of fun together and I am sure it is just going to keep getting even better. Alyssa (another American teacher) and I keep saying that we cannot believe we actually live here! Crazy! I think I will be at the beach everyday. Tomorrow we are taking a trip to Ponce with Mr. Mendez. He has been very helpful. Today he picked me and Tom (American teacher) up and brought us to his home in the mountains. He even made us breakfast!
For some reason I cannot put up anymore pictures right now. I will try tomorrow and add more.
